A few weeks ago I posted this on Instagram, hinting that I was working on a little home project:
I know it took forever but I've finally pulled all the details together for you.
I love the look of botanical prints all neatly lined up on a wall but just couldn't find what I was looking for in the store, so I turned to my home decor BFF: Pinterest!
In my search I came across this great set of ferns from Style Me Green that were totally FREE to print, plus I had four white frames hanging around the house that needed a new home. I pulled out a box of leftover resume paper and printed away. I used a heavier weight paper just because I had some, but you could absolutely use regular copy paper on this project.
You know the hardest part of this project? Deciding where I wanted to hang those frames! I went back and forth between four different places and numerous combinations of looks. A nail, is a nail people and I didn't want to put four more than necessary in our walls.
In the end I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE where I chose to put them - and not at all where I thought they would be when I set out on this project.
I wanted to use the 11x17 size to fit into a big frame that I already had, and obviously you can't print that size on a home printer. So I uploaded the file to Staples and picked it up the next day. This is the only part of the project that cost me anything. Are you ready to hear how much it set me back??
A WHOPPING $0.34!
And that's only because I went all out and got it printed on cardstock! Can you believe it? What a simple, easy project and I love the way it looks in my dining room.
In fact I keep walking by and admiring the whole thing - so uncluttered, so clean and just the kind of fresh look I was going for.
If you are wanting to add some botanical prints to your home there are so many to choose from. I have a variety of styles pinned to my Printables Board on Pinterest to get you started in the right direction.
